Chap. 229.—An ACT to provide for a special election for a clerk of the
circuit and county courts of Lunenburg county.
Approved March 12, 1878.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly, That the judge
of the county court of Lunenburg county is authorized and
directed to issue a writ of election to fill a vacancy in the
office of clerk of the circuit and county courts of said county.
The said election shall be held on the fourth Thursday in
May, cighteen hundred and seventy-eight, and shall in all
respects conform to the provisions of the eleventh sectior of
chapter oue hundred and fifty-three of Acts of Assembly of
eighteen hundred and seventy-four and five; and the person
elected shall, within thirty days after the election, qualify in
the manner prescribed by law in cases of clerks elected at
general elections, and upon his qualification shall proceed to
the discharge of ‘the duties of his office.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
