Chap. 200.—An ACT to amend and re-enact an act entitled an act to
authorize the board of supervisors of the county of Isle of Wight to
contract for the erection of a bridge across Jones’ creek in said
county, approved March 29th, 1876.

1. Beit enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
section one of an act entitled an act authorizing the board
of supervisors of the county of Isle of Wight to contract
for the building of a bridge across Jones’ creek in said county,
approved March twenty-ninth, eighteen hundred and seventy-
six, be amended and re-enacted so as to read as follows:
§ 1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia,
That the judge of the county court of Isle of Wight county
be and he is hereby authorized, at his discretion, to appoint.
not less than three nor more than five commissioners, whose
duty it shall be to contract with the lowest responsible bid-
der, subject to the approval of said court, for the erection of
a draw-bridge across Jones’ creek, at a point on said creek
most convenient for travel between the town of Smithfield
and Smith’s Neck, and said commissioners shall require said
bridge to be so constructed as not to obstruct navigation.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
