Chap. 197.—An ACT to authorize the sale of the church property of
the Zion Baptist church, in Accomac county, and to re-invest the
proceeds of the sale.
Approved March 12, 1878.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
William 8S. Lope and Louis D. Drummond, surviving trustees
of the church property known as Zion meeting-bouse, in the
county of Accomac, be and they are hereby authorized to
Bell, publicly or privately, for cash or upon credit, as they
may deem expedient, their church property aforesaid; and
upon the sale thereof, to make all needful conveyances and
to take such securities for the purchase money as to them
may seem meet, and the said surviving trustees are hereby
authorized and required to re-invest the proceeds of the said
sale in the purchase of a new site and the erection of a
church building thereon, for the use of the Baptist church
and congregation worshipping in said Zion meeting house;
but the purchaser shall not be bound to sce to the applica-
tion of the purchase money.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
