Chap. 179.—An ACT to authorize Mrs. Harriet N. Dunn to convey
real estate.

Approved March 11, 1878.

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
Mistress Harriet N. Dunn, of Washington county, wife of
David C. Dunn, late of said county, be and she is hereby
authorized to execute, without her said husband’s joining
her, a conveyance of all her right, title, and interest, inclu-
ding right and contingent right of dower in and to any and
all lands owned by her or her husband at any time during
their coverture; and such conveyance shall be as valid to
pass her right, title, and interest as if her husband had joined
with her in the conveyance, and the proceeds shall be her
separate estate. Such conveyance shall be acknowledged
and certified in the form and manner required for acknow-
ledgment of married women, changing the form of certifi-
cate so that it may conform to the provisions of this act.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
