Chap. 166.—An ACT to erect a wharf on Chincoteague bay, in Acco-
mac county.
Approved March 7, 1878.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
Enoch Conger and William R. Young, a firm trading and
doing business under the name and style of Conger and
Young, be and they are hereby authorized to erect a wharf
upon their lands at Franklin city, on Chincoteague bay, in
Accomac county, the said wharf to be one hundred feet wide
and extending four hundred feet into said bay; and that said
parties, their heirs or assigns, shall have the right to charge
and recover such fees, as a compensation for the use of said
wharf, as may have been agreed upon by and between the
parties for the same or similar use: provided that said wharf
shall not obstruct or impair the tree navigation of said bay:
and provided also, that this act shall at all times be under
the control of the general assembly, and may be amended
or repealed, as they may deem proper.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
