Chap. 153.—An ACT to create an independent and detached military
organization, under the name of the Stute Guard of the city of
Richmond, with authority to choose a uniform.

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
Robert A. Paul, William H. Tinsley, and David W. A. Fray-
ser, and such others as may. be associated with them, are
hereby created an independent and detached military organ-
ization, under the name and style of The State Guard of the
city of Richmond, and that they have power to choose a
suitable uniform, and be under the control of their own
officers, who shall receive all orders directly from the adju-
tant-general of the state; that in all other respects this
company shall be governed by the military law of the state
of Virginia.
