Chap. 149.—An ACT to authorize the trustees of the Methodist Episco-
pal church, South, of Providence, Fairfax county, Virginia, to sell
property and to borrow money.
Approved March 6, 1878.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
the surviving trustees in a deed from Blecker Canfield and
Harriet, his wife, to E. R. Ford and others, bearing date the
fifteenth day of October, one thousand eight hundred and
sixty-nine, of record in the clerk’s office of the county of
Fairfax, whereby certain real estate was conveyed to said
trustees for the benefit of the Methodist Episcopal Church
South, be authorized and empowered to sell the said real
estate so conveyed, consisting of twenty-three bundred and
sixty square feet of land, mere or less, situate in the town of
Providence, in tbe county of Fairfax, lying on the road lead-
ing from the said town to Fairfax station, on the Virginia
Midland railroad, and to make conveyance of the same to
the purchaser or purchasors thereof, and to reinvest the pro-
ceeds of such sale in other property, to be beld upon the
Same trusts and for the same uses as the property sold.
2. That the trustees or their successors of the presen*
Methodist Episcopal church, South, of said town shall have
power to borrow money, and execute deeds of trust on any
property held by them or which may be held by them in
trust to secure the same.
3. This act shall be in force from its passage.
