Chap. 109.—An ACT to authorize the trustees of Davis school district
of the county of Shenandoah, to sell a certain lot of land, and to re-
invest the proceeds thereof in the erection of a school-house.
Approved February 22, 1878.
1. Bo it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
it shall be lawful for the trustees of the public free school of
Davis school district, to sell and convey by good and sufficient
deed, a lot of land, of one-fourth acre, more or less, conveyed
to said trustees by Philip Swartz, for public school purposes,
upon such terms as they may deem most advantageous, and
to invest the proceeds derived thorefrom either in the repair
or erection of a building, suitable for school purposes, en a
lot of land in the same vicinity gratuitously conveyed to said
trustees. Upon the payment of the purchase money, the
paid trustecs are hereby authorized to make conveyance of
all their right, title, and so forth, in the said lot of one-fourth
acre of Jand: provided, however, that it shall be their duty
to report to the school board of said county an account of
the purchase moncy so received by them, and the manner in
which the same had been reinvested.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
