Chap. 84.—An ACT to release certain citizens of Henrico county from
the payment of fines and costs for violating section 1 of an act for the
protection of fish in James river, approved March 20th, 1876.
Approved February 18, 1877.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
B. J. Kellam, Mat Johnson and Robert Smoot, citizens of
the county of Henrico, be, and are hereby, released from
the payment of the fines imposed by the county judge of
Henrico county for taking fish, in violation of section one of
an act to provide for the protection of fish in James river,
approved March twentieth, eighteen hundred and seventy-
five, said parties being the properly authorized agents of the
fish commissioners, who “shall have the right of taking any
fsh in the said waters by such means as they may think
proper for use in the propagation of said fish,” and for no
other purpose.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
