Chap. 67.—An ACT to authorize J. W. Wheatton, D. J. Wheatton
and S. J. Mumford to erect wharves on their lands on Chincoteague
channel, in Accomack county.
Approved February 6, 1877.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly, That it shall be
lawful for Joshua W. Wheatton, D. J. Wheatton and 8. J.
Mumford, to erect wharves on their lands on Chincoteague
bay, in the county of Accomack; each of said wharves to
have a water-front of one hundred and twenty-five feet, ox-
tending into Chincoteague channel, thirty feet from low water
mark; said above named persons, or either of them, their
heirs or assigns, shall have the right to charge and recover
such fees, as A compensation for the use of said wharves, as
may be agreed upon between the parties using the same and
the owners thereof: provided, that such wharves shall not
obstruct or impair the free navigation of Chincoteague chan-
nel: and provided, also, that this act shall be subject to
amendment, modification or ropent, at the pleasure of the
general assembly.
2, This act shall be in force from ihe passage.
