Chap. 352.—An ACT to amend and re-enact section 3 of an act entitled
an act to incorporate the Broad creek toll-bridge and turnpike road
company, approved February 17, 1876.

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly, That section
three of an act entitled an act to incorporate the Broad creek
toll-bridge and turnpike road company, approved February
seventcenth, cighteen hundred and seventy-six, be amended
and re-enacted so as to read.as follows:
§ 3. The said company shall bo, and they are hereby autho-
rized to erect gatos at the bridge, and at such other point or
points as may be advisable, and to charge toll as follows: for
crossing the bridge, five cents for each horse or mule, and
one cent for each pedestrian, and in other respects the rates
now prescribed by law, and no higher rates shall be charged
for using a portion of said road; and when the turnpike shall
be completed from Norfolk to ‘Kempsville, the .bridge tolls
shall be abolished: provided that the work be commenced
within four years, and the road completed to Kempsville
within seven years. .
. This act shall be in force from its passage.
