Chap. 35.—An ACT to amend and re-enact section twenty-seven, chap-
ter twenty-three, Code of 1873, fixing the pay of adjutant-general,
and to repeal the tw enty-eighth section of the said chapter.

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
section twenty-seven ef the twenty-third chapter of the Code
of Virginia for cighteen hundred and seventy-three, be
amended and re-enacted so as to read as follows:
3 27. The adjutant-general shall receive for his services
one hundred dollars per annum, payable monthly, as other
salaries are paid, to commence and be computed from the
first day of September, eighteen hundred and seventy-six.
The adjutant-general shall “reside at or near, and shall keep
his office at the scat of government; but when the pubtic
service shall render it expedient, the governor may direct
him to remove with his office to any other place within the
state.
2. Section twenty-eight of chapter twenty-three of the
Code of eighteen bundred and seventy-three is hereby re-
pealed.
3. This act shall be in force from its passage.
