Chap. 349.—An ACT to amend the 15th section of chapter 38 of the
Code of 1878, in relation to returning lists of sales of delinquent lands.
Approved April 4, 1877.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly, That section
fifteen of chapter thirty-eight of the Code of Virginia of
eighteen hundred and seventy-three, be amended and re-
enacted so as to read as follows:
§ 15. The said list, with the certificate of the said oath
attached thereto, shall, in the case of real estate in the city
of Richmond, be returned to the chancery court of the said
city of Richmond; and in case of real estate in any county,
city, or town, other than the city of Richmond, shal? be re-
turned to the court of such county, city, or town (whose
officer may have made the sales), at the first or second terms
next after completion of said sales. Ifthe court see no cause
to doubt the correctness of the list, it shall order a copy
thereof to be certitied to the auditor of public accounts. Any
and every list, with a certificate of the oath attached thereto,
which may have been returned heretofore to the hustings
court of the city of Richmond under the fifteenth section of
chapter thirty-eight of the Code, edition of eighteen hundred.
and seventy-three, shall be transmitted immediately by the
clerk of the hustings court of the city of Richmond to the
clerk of the chancery court of the city ef Richmond.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
