Chap. 318.—JOINT RESOLUTION directing the attorney-gencral to
appear as counsel for certain parties who were officers of the state in
April, 1865, in a suit instituted against them in the United States
district court.
Approved April 4, 1877.
Resolved by the general assembly of Virginia, That the
attorney-general be directed to appear as counsel for all the
officers of the state government who held office in this state
in April, 1865, against whom suits have been instituted in
the circuit court of the United States for the eastern district
of Virginia, for certain amounts paid to them by the said
state government, as is alleged, and to defend them against
the demands made against them.
