Chap. 292.—An ACT to amend an act entitled an act to amend section
22, chapter 18, Code of 1873, approved February 14th, 1874, in re-
gard to pay of assistant keepers of the penitentiary.
Approved April 2, 1877.
1. Be it enacted by the general assem) 5) That an act en-
titled an act (title as above), be amended and re-enacted so
as to read as follows:
. § 22. The superintendent of the penitentiary shall receive
the sum of two thousand dollars per annum; the first assist-
ant keeper, nine hundred dollars; the second, third, fourth,
fifth, sixth, and seventh assistant keepers, each eight hun-
dred dollars per annum. When the labor actually and di.

clusive of the amount received for the bire of convicts.
