Chap. 275.—An ACT to authorize the trustees of Martha Washirgten
college to’ borrow money and execute a deed of trust to secure Lie
" same,
Approved April 2, 1877.
Whereas, the trustees of Martha Washington college de-
sire to erect an additional building upon their grounds at
Abingdon, in the county of Washington, and to borrow
money to aid in the erection of said building, and to secar2
the same by deed of trust; therefore,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly, That it sball be
lawful for the trustees of Martha Washington college to
borrow money to an amount not exceeding eight thousand
dollars, at such rate of interest, not exceeding six per centum
per annum, as may be agreed upon, to be used in the erection
of said building; and for the purpose of securing the prompt
payment of such sum or sums of money astbhey may borrow,
with the interest agreed to be paid thereon, the said trustees
may convey by one or more deeds of trust, to be execated
by them, all or any part of the real estate now held by them.
for the use and benefit of said college. The deed or deeds
shall be regarded as executed by them when signed, sealed
and delivered by the president of the board of trustees ss
such, and the deed or deeds so executed by them shall te
valid and effectual in Jaw for the purpose therein set forth.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
