Chap. 269.—An ACT to incorporate the Danville district camp mee?-
ing associations in the county of Pittsylvania, state of Virginia.
Approved April 2, 1877.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
J. J. Lamkin, Peter H. Fishburn, J. G. Bailey, W. C. Keatts,
J. M. Haden, R. B. Keatts, E. N. Keatts, H. C. Keatts, and
such other persons as may desire to be associated with them,
are hereby constituted a body corporate by the name and
style of The Danville District Camp Meeting Association, and
shall have a common seal, may sue and be sued, plead and
be impleaded.
2. The said corporation shall have power to make and
adopt a constitution and by-laws, rules and regulations for
the admission and expulsion of its members and their gov-
ernment, and the election of its officers, and to define their
duties, and forthe protection of its property and funds: pro-
vided the same be not inconsistent with the laws of the state.
3. The said corporation may purchase, hold, or lease, any
real or personal estate, and receive donations of real and per-
sonal estate: provided they shall not hold any real estate
exceeding twenty acres of land.
4, This act shall be in force from its passage.
