Chap. 266.—An ACT to amend and re-enact section 9 of an act passed
24th March, 1848, in reference to the Lynchburg and Tennessee rail-
road company.

Approved April 2, 1877.

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly, That section
nine of an act passed March twenty-fourth, eighteen hundred
and forty-eight, entitled an act to incorporate the Lynchburg
and Tennessee railrcad company, be amended and re-enacted
89 a8 to read as follows:

§ 9. That the said common council of the town and corpo-
ration of Lynchburg, shall have power and authority to as-
sess and collect taxes upon the lands, property, and persons,
of all persons within the town proper and the corporation,
for the foregoing purposes: provided that the assessments 80
made shall be equal.

2. This act shall be in force from its passage. ©
