Chap. 240.—An ACT to provide for working and keeping the public
roads in order in Frederick county. .
Approved March 29, 1577.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly, That every-sur-
veyor of a road in Frederick county shall be entitled to com-
pensation, at the discretion of the county court, to be by it
certified to the board of supervisors and paid out of the
county levy, not exceeding one dollar per day, for the time
actually employed in summoning hands to work on the road ;
and every surveyor of the roads for the county of Frederick
shall be entitled to one dollar, in addition, for the number of
days actually cngaged in working the roads, which time shall
be stated in writing, and sworn to. Any surveyor of a road
in Frederick county, who shall fail to perform any duty re-
quired of him in this act, shall pay a fine of not less than
five nor more than thirty dollars.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
