Chap. 20.—An ACT to authorize the Washington, Cincinnati and St.
Louis railroad company to record mortgages and deeds of trust under
certain conditions.
Approved January 13, 1877.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
the Wasbington, Cincinnati and St. Louis railroad company,
incorporated by the general assembly of Virginia, be, and
they are hereby, authorized to record one or more mortgages
or deeds of trust in any county or city in the state of Virginia,
and the tax shall be assessed and paid upon the amount of
bonds or other obligations secured thereby actually sold or
by pothecated during the year ending on the first day of
February of each year, and no other tax shall be demanded
upon such deed of -trust or mortgage.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
