Chap. 185.—An ACT to amend an act approved January 3d, 1876, en-
titled an act authorizing the town or city of Fredericksburg, to issue
bonds to redeem her ante-war ‘debt.
Approved March 20, 1877.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
the first section of the act approved January third, eightcen
hundred and seventy-six, entitled an act authorizing the town
of Fredericksburg to issue bonds to 1edeem her ante-war
debt, be amended and re-enacted so as to read as folluws,
to-wit:
§1. That the mayor and common council of the corpora-
tion of Fredericksburg, shall be and they are hereby clothed
with the power to issue bonds of said corporation to an amount
not greater than one hundred and thirty thousand dollars,
bearing interest nut exceeding seven per centum per annum,
and payable at such period or periods as said council may
elect. The said council shall use the bonds so issued, for the
purpose of refunding and discharging the existing debt of
said corporation, and interest accrued thereon.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
