Chap. 182.—An ACT to prevent the obstruction of navigable wate:s in
the countics of Accomack, Lancaster and Northampton.

Approved March 20, 1877.

1. Beit enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
it shall be anlawfal for any person to throw oyster shells,
clam shells, or other substances, whose tendency is to obstruct
navigation, into the waters adjacent to the landings in the
counties of Accomack, Lancaster and Northampton, or into
the navigable channels leading thereto.

2. Ary person so offending shall be guilty of a misde-
meanor, and upon conviction shall be fined not less than five
nor more than twenty dollara for each offence, recoverable
before a justice of the peace.

3. This act shall be in force from its passage.
