Chap. 175.—An ACT to authorize the erection of a boom in the Mat-
taponi river.

1. Be it enacted hy the general assembly of Virginia, That
A. i. Phillips and C. D. Gilbert, partners under the style of
Phillips and Gilbert, be, and they are hereby authorized to
erect a boom in the Mattaponi river, opposite their saw-mill,
in the county of King William, for the purpose of stopping
logs, floated down the river, to be sawed at their miil: pro-
vided that the said boom shall not obstruct navigation on
said river.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
