Chap. 163.—An ACT to limit expenditures from the library fund.
Approved March 20, 1877.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly, That it shall not
be lawful for the committee on the library, or the librarian,
in addition to the purchase of such Jaw books as shall be re-
quired for the law libraries, the payment of premiums for in-
surance against fire, and the expenditure of the sum now
allowed to be used in printing historical manuscripts, to ex-
pend in any one year more than the sum of three thousand
dollars.
2. If the receipts into the library fund shall in any one
year excced the amount authorized to be expended in the
preceding section, the excess shall be paid into the treasury
by the librarian,
3. The librarian shall, in bis annual report, state in detail
all purchases made, from whom made, and at what prices.
4. This act shall be in force from its passuge.
