Chap. 160.—An ACT to amend and re-enact section 15 of an act ap-
proved March 29, 1875, as amended by an act approved March 29,.
1876, entitled an act to amend and re-enact sections 15 and 80 of an
act approved March 29, 1876, prescribing the duties, powers, liabili-
ties, and compensation of certain county officers, providing for the
collection of taxes, and for the repeal of chapters 37 and 46 of the
Code of 1873.

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly, That the fifteenth
section of the act approved March twenty-ninth, eighteen
hundred and seventy-five, prescribing the duties, powers,.
liabilities, and compensation of certain county officers, pro-
viding for the collection of taxes, and for the repeal of chap-
ters thirty-seven and forty-six of the Code of eighteen hun-
dred and seventy-three, as amended by an act approved
March twenty-ninth, eighteen bundred and seventy-six, en-
titled an act to amend and re-enact sections fifteen and thirty
of an act approved March twenty-ninth, eighteen hundred
and seventy-five, prescribing the duties, powers, liabilities,
and compensation of certain county officers, providing for
the collection of taxes, and for the repeal of chapters tbirty-
seven and forty-six of the Code of eighteen hundred and
seventy-three, be amended and re-enacted so as to read as
follows:
§ 15. He shall be allowed for his services in receiving ane
disbursing the county levy, five per centum on the amount
of money so received and disbursed, not in excess of ten thou-
sand dollars, except the treasurer of the county of Rockbridge,
and the treasurer of the county of Botetourt, and the trea-
surer of the county of Henrico, the supervisors of which
counties may fix the compensation of said treasurers for the
collection and disbursement of the county levies for said
counties; and upon the residue of said levies, except in the
county of Rockbridge, and the county of Botetourt, and the
county of Henrico, be shall be allowed three per centum.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
