Chap. 139.—An ACT to amend and re-enact an act to authorize the
trustees of Westville Baptist church, in Mathews county, to borrow
money.
‘Approved March 13, 1877.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly, That an act en-
titled an act to authorize the trustees of Westville Baptist
church, in Mathews county, to borrow money, approved Jan-
uary thirteenth, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-
seven, be amended and re-enacted so as to read as follows:
That William H. Brown, James B. Thurston, and Alex-
ander Marchant, trustees of Westville Baptist church, in
Mathews county, be, and they are hereby authorized to ex-
ecute one or more deeds of trust upon the property of said
church, held by said trustees, for the purpose of raising a
sum of money, not to exceed three thousand dollars, to be
used in defraying the expenses of furnishing said church;
and the said trustees are hereby authorized, in raising such
sum of money, to pay a rate of interest not exceeding eight
per centum per annum.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
