Chap. 138.—An ACT to aythorize the trustees of the Methodist Epis-
copal church, south, in the town of Liberty, to sell and purchase
property, and to borrow money.
Approved March 13, 1877.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
the trustees of the Methodist Episcopal church, in the town
of Liberty, are hereby authorized to sell any personal pro-
perty and real estate heretofore conveyed to them, or their
predecessors, or which may hereafter be conveyed to them,
or their successors, as trustees for. said church, and to re-
invest the proceeds of such sale in other property; and such
property shall be held upon the same trusts, and for the same
uses, as the property sold was held upon.
2. Said trustees, or their successors, shall have power to
borrow money and execute deeds of trust, on any property
held by them in trust, and to secure the same at a rate of
Interest not exceeding eight per centum per annum.
3. This act shall be in force from its passage. :
