Chap. 120.—An ACT to incorporate the Christiansburg Bank.

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly, That James C.
Taylor, Archer A. Phlegar, C. W. Sullivan, Thomas E. Salli-
van, Arthur QO. Sullivan, Crocket L. Pierce, Thomas W. Spin-
dle, John R. Johnson, John H. Johnson, James Steele, John
L. Taylor, Rice D. M. Charleton, James E. Crush, George G.
Junkin, and Garnet Y. Booker, together with such other
persons as are now, or may hereafter be associated with
them, shall be, and they are hereby constituted and made a
body politic and corporate, by the name of The Christiansburg
Bank, and by this name they are hereby invested with all
the rights, powers, and privileges conferred, and made subject
to all the rules, regulations and restrictions imposed by the
Code of Virginia, regulating savings banks: provided how-
ever, that the members of said savings bank shall have power
to appoint their own directory at their first meeting under
this act; but all elegtions thereafter to be made, shall be in
conformity to the provisions of the before cited act.
2. And be it further enacted, That the capital stock of said
savings bank may at any time be increased to any amount
not exceeding three hundred thousand dollars.
3. That the shares of the private stockholders of said bank
shall be held liable to make good any liability which said
bank may incur; but the other property of said stockholders
shall not be so liable.
4. This act shall be in force from its passage.
