Chap. 1.—JOINT RESOLUTION instructing the attorney-general to
defend the interests of the State in the case of the Chesapeake and
Ohio railroad company and the case of J. W. McCready against the
commonwealth.

Resolved by the general assembly of Virginia, That the
governor of the commonwealth be requested to instruct the
attorney general of the State to appear and defend the inter-
ests of the commonwealth in the case of the Chesapeake and
Ohio railroad company against the commonwealth of Vir-
ginia, and in the case of F. W. McCready against the com-
monwealth of Virginia, now pending in the Supreme Court
of the United States upon appeals from the Court of Appeals
of Virginia; and that the attorney-general be instructed to
ask of the said Supreme Court an early hearing of the case
of the Chesapeake and Ohio railroad company against the
commonwealth of Virginia, the interests of the state demand-
ing such early hearing.
