Chap. 8.—An ACT for the Relief of the Securities of Thomas L. Jones,
late Collector of Beaver Dam Township, Hanover County.

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly, That the treas-
urer of Hanover county be and he is hereby authorized and
required, upon the settlement of the judgment, in the name
of the Commonwealth of Virginia, for the benefit of Beaver
Dam township, of said county, against Thomas L. Jones,
late collector of said township, and Matthew A. Hope,
Thomas P. Carver, David G. Jones, and David . Jones, his
sureties, to receive from said sureties, in discharge of said
judgment, the payment of the principal, legal interest, and
costs of collection, abating therefrom the damages and excess
of interest, which have been awarded for said default: pro-
vided, that nothing herein contained shall be construed as
relieving the said Thomas L. Jones, from the payment of
any portion of said judgment and damages.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
