Chap. 68.—An ACT to authorize the Recordation by the Register of
the Land Office, of Copies of Papers Recorded in Clerks’ Offices of
the Commonwealth.
Approved February 12, 1876,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly, That a copy,
certified according to law, of any deed, will, or other paper,
which has been recorded in any clerk’s office in this state,
shall be admitted to record by the register of the land office
and recorded by him in proper books kept tor that purpose
in his office, whenever he shall be required to do so by any
person interested therein.
2. The register of the land office shall provide such strongly
bound books as may, from time to time, be required for the
recordation of such papers, in which he shall record them in
the manner now required by law, for the recordation of the
originals of such papers. He shall be entitled to the same
fees for services performed under this act as are now paid to
clerks of courts for’ similar services, and he shall be subject
to the same penalties for failure to discharge the duties re-
quired by this act as are imposed by law upon clerks of courts
for failure to discharge similar duties.
3. Copies of papers so recorded in the office of the register
of the land office shall, when attested by the register, have
the same validity and affect as copies of the originals certi-
fied by clerks of courts. .
4, Nothing in this act shall be so construed as to impose
any charge upon the treasury.
