Chap. 55.—An ACT to eaea for the Collection of the Revenue of
. Lee Township, in the County of Accomac.
Approved February 10, 1876.
Whereas, in consequence of the failure of the assessor for
Lee Township, in the county of Accomac, to make out and
deliver his books to the treasurer of said county, the citizens
of said township have been, and are still, unable®to pay the
taxes now due and owing from them:
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly, That the trea-
surer of the said county be and he is hereby authorized to
receive, at any time within sixty days from the time when
such assessment shall be delivered to said treasurer, from all
persons assessed with taxes in that portion of said county,
lately known as Lee township, the taxes due from them for
the year eighteen hundred and seventy-five, without adding
the five per centum prescribed in cases where taxes have not
been paid prior to the first day of December.
2. After the expiration of sixty days from the time limited
for the payment of said taxes without requirement of the
payment of said five per centum, the said treasurer shall be
required to account for and pay the same into the treasury
of the state.
3. This act shall be in force from its passage.
