Chap. 29.—An ACT to amend and re-enact the second section of an act
entitled an act to make valid the Charter of the Virginia Savings
Bank of Lynchburg, granted by the Lynchburg Circuit Court, ap-
proved January twenty-sixth, eighteen hundred and seventy-four.

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly, That section two
of an act entitled an act to make valid the charter of the
Virginia savings bank of Lynchburg, Virginia, granted by
the Lyncbburg, circuit court, which was approved January
the twenty-sixth, eighteen hundred and seventy-four, be
and it is hereby amended and re-cnacted so as to read as
follows:
§2. The capital stock of this association shall no®be less
than twenty thousand dollars, which sum may be increased
from time to time to asum not exceeding five hundred thou-
sand dollars, to be divided into shares of twenty-five dollars
each. Shares of one hundred dollars each, into which the
capital stock of said association has been heretofore divided,
may be subdivided and merged into shares of twenty-five
dollars each, upon termes hitherto or hereafter agreed upon
‘between the stockholders. And where such shares of one
hundred dollars each have been already subdivided and
merged into shares of twenty-five dollars by agreement be-
tween the stockholders of said association, said subdivisions
and merger shall be as valid and effectual as if authorized by
the general assembly at the timé, the true intent and mean-
ing of this act being to ratify and make legal and valid
said subdivision and merger of shares of one hundred dollars
each into shares of twenty-five dollars each.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
