Chap. 249.—An ACT to Incorporate the Town of Grundy, in Buchanan
County.

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly, That the town
of Grundy, in the county of Buchanan, as the same has here-
tofore been laid off into lots, streets and alleys, and as the
same may hereafter be laid off into lots, streets and alleys,
shall be and the same is hereby made a town corporate, by
the name of The Town of Grundy; and by that name shall
have and exercise the powers conferred upon towns by the
fifty-fourth chapter of the Code of Virginia, edition of eigh-
teen hundred and sixty, and all laws now in force and which
may hereafter be enacted, fcr the government of towns con-
taining less than five thousand inhabitants.
' 2, The boundaries of the town shall be one-fourth of a mile
from the courthouse building in said town, extending east,
west, north and south, and eMbracing the area contained
therein, so as to mako said area one-half of a mile square.
3. This act shall be in force from its passage.
