Chap. 223.—An ACT to amend and re-enact section eight, chapter one
_ hundred and twenty-two of the Code of eighteen hundred and seven-
’ ty-three, relating to Masters and Apprantions.

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
section eight of chapter one hundred and twenty-two of the
Code of eighteen hundred and seventy-three, be amended
and re-enacted so as to read as follows:
§8. Such writing may, with the approbation of the said
court, and on such teffms as the court may prescribe, be
transferred by the master, or within three months after his
death, by his personal representative. The assignee thereof
shall succeed to the master’s rights and obligations for the
future, and shall give bond if required by the court. Such
writing may be in the following form or to the following
effect :
This indenture witnesseth, that it is mutually agreed be-
tween and that
aged years, shall be taken and held as an apprentice for
the term of years by the said - ; and the
said contracts and cevenants with the said
