Chap. 219.—An ACT to amend an Act entitled an Act to Punish Un-
lawful Dealing in Pig Tron and Railroad Iron by Irresponsible
Persons.

Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
the act entitled an act to punish unlawful dealing in pig iron
and railroad iron by irresponsible persons, approved March
twenty-ninth, eighteen hundred and seventy-five, be amended
and re-enacted so as to read as follows:
1. That any person receiving or buying pig iron or railroad
iron of any description, from any one except the manufac-
turerg, their authorized agents, or regular licensed dealers in
the same (unless the seller furnish true and sufficient evi-
dence of rightful possession), with intent to defraud, and
the possession shall be prima facie evidence of such intent,
shall, at the discretion of the jury, either be confined in the
penitentiary not less than one nor more than two years, or be
confined in jail not exceeding twelve months.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
