Chap. 183.—An ACT to amend and re-enact section twelve, chapter
twenty-one, Code eighteen hundred and seventy-three, in relation to
Contributing Members of Volunteer Companies of Militia.

1. Be it enacted, That section twelve, chapter twenty-one
of the Code of eighteen hundred and seventy-three, be amend-
ed and re-enacted, so as to read as follows:
§ 12. In all cities having a population over.ten thousand
inhabitants, each volunteer company which is armed and uni-
formed, may, besides its regular and active members, enroll
thirty contributing members, on payment in advance, by each
person desiring to become such contributing member, of not
less than twenty dollars per annum, which money shall be
paid into the company treasury, and applied to the purchase
of uniforms for the rank and file of the active members of
the company, or to Buch purposes as may be authorized by
the laws of such company.
