Chap. 121.—An ACT to amend and re-enact section twelve of an act
approved March twentieth, eighteen hundred and seventy-four, enti-
tled an act providing a Charter for the City of Manchester.

Approved March 15, 1876.

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That.
section twelve of an act approved March twenty, eighteen |
hundred and seventy-four, entitled an act providing a char- |
ter for the city of Manchester, be amended and re-enacted
to read as‘follows:

§ 12. The mavor of said city shall receive such compensa-
tion as the city council may determine, to be paid at stated
periods: provided, that any reduction which may be made in
the salary of said mayor shall not take effect before the first
day of July, eighteen hundred and seventy-six.

2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
