Chap. 107.—An ACT to amend and re-enact section one of an act
approved March twenty-ninth, eighteen hundred and seventy-five,
entitled an act to amend and re-enact section one of an act to incor-
porate the Greene Humane Society and for other purposes, passed
arch fifteenth, eighteen hundred and fifty-one.

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
the first section of an act passed March twenty-ninth, eigh-
teen hundred and seventy-five, entitled an act to amend and
re-enact the first section of an act entitled an act to incor-
porate the Greene humane society, passed March fifteenth
eighteen hundred and fifty-one, be amended and re-enacted
s0 as to read as follows:
§ 1. Be it enacted, That the county court of Greene county
shall be and it is hereby authorized and directed at its next
April or May term, or as soon thereafter as practicable, to
appoint three trustees (one from each magisterial district
in said county), who shall hold their offices during a term of
five years, subject nevertheless to be removed at any time at
the discretion of the said court, and in all cases of vacancy,
whether from death, removal or otherwise, the said court
shall have power and it shall be its duty to fill said vacancy
for the unexpired term. And the said court is further
authorized and directed by order entered on the records of
said county court, at the time of the appointment of said
trustees, to fix their pay not exceeding three dollars per day
for such trustee: provided no trustee shall receive more than
twelve dollars for his services in any one year. The term of
office for said trustees shall commence the first day of July,
eighteen hundred and seventy-six.
2. This act shall be in forge from and after the first of
May, eighteen hundred and seventy-six.
Chap. 107.-An ACT to prescribe the Times for Holding the Courts in
the Eighth Judicial Circuit.

, 1. Be it enacted by the general assembly, That the circuit
courts of the eighth judicial circuit shall hold their terms
hereafter at the times and places hereinafter specified, to-wit :
County of Mathews—Third April and third October.
County of Middlesex—T wenty-fifth September and twenty-
fifth March.
County of Elizabeth City—Twentieth April and twentieth
October. !
County of Warwick—Twenty-seventh April and twenty-
seventh October. ,
County of York—First May and first November.
Williamsburg and county of James City—Sixth May and
sixth November.
County of Surry—Thirteenth May and thirteenth No-
vember.
County of Charles City—Twentieth May and twentieth
November. . .
County of New Kent—Twenty-fifth May and twenty-fifth
November.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage, and all acts
and parts of acts inconsistent with this act are hereby re-
pealed.
