Whereas Henry G. Wax, late township collector of the

by law,.but soon thereafter, and before the same was needed
or could have been used by the district school board, did pay
the principal and interest thereon, exclusive of damages, to
the said treasurer, so that no injury was done or resulted to
the public; and whereas his securities have heretofore been
released from the payment of said damages; and whereas
the said damages are very high and onerous, being twenty-
five per centum per month; therefore,

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
Henry G. Wax, late township collector of the township of
Eatillville, of the county of Scott, be, and he is hereby re-
lieved from the payment of said damages, or any part thereof.

2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
