Chap. 74.—An ACT to Amend and Re-enact Section 17, Chapter 23,
Code of 1878, in relation to Aids to the Governor.

Approved February 28, 1874.

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
section seventeen, chapter twenty-three, Code of eighteen
hundred and seventy-three, be amended and re-enacted, so az
to read as follows:

17. The governor shall have seven aids, to be appointed
by him; the said aids shall have the brevet rank of colonels
of cavalry, without pay.

2. All acts and parts of acts inconsistent with this act, are
hereby repealed.

3. This act shall be in force from and after its passage.
