Chap. 257.—An ACT to authorize the Mayor and Council of the Town
of Suffolk, to borrow money.

1, Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That Tov
it shall be lawful for the mayor and council of the town ‘of folk
Suffolk, to borrow a sum of money not exceeding two thou- ney
sand dollars, and to issue town bonds for the same, bearing
interest, at a rate of interest not exceeding ten per centum
per annum, for the purpose of purchasing land, and erecting
a market house thereon, and for such other purposes of im-
provement of the town as may be deemed necessary.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage. Con
