Chap. 256.—An ACT to amend and re-enact the 17th section of chapter
99 of the Code of 1878, for the protection of Game.

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That Cha
he seventeenth section of chapter ninety-nine of the Code {33
f eighteen hundred and seventy-three, be amended and re- law
ynacted so as to read as follows: $17
“§ 17. It shall not be lawful for any person to hunt or Uni
shoot, or otherwise cause the destruction of, partridges, phea- sia,
sants, or wild turkeys, in any of the following counties, viz: ant
Rockingham, Richmond, Alexandria, Frederick, Clarke, Fau- cock
juier, Fairfax, Rappahannock, Prince George, Westmore- 2m
land, Loudoun, Goochland, Northampton, York, James City,
Drange, Caroline, Hanover, Accomac, Louisa, Princess Anne,
Madison, Wythe, or any other county that may so elect, by
order of its board of supervisors, from the first day of Janu-
ary to the fifteenth day of October, of each year; or of any
woodcock, from the first day of January to the first day of
July, of each year.”
