1. Be it enacted by the general assembly, That secti.

council, entered on their record, and filed in the office of the
city clerk. In case a vacancy shall occur in the office «
commissioner of the revenue, the city council shall elect s
qualified person to fill said office until the next general elec-
tion, which may be held in the city, when the vacaney shal!
be filled, by election, for the unexpired term.”
