CHAP. 21.—An ACT to transfer the Interest of the State in The Jack-
sonville and Christiansburg Turnpike Company, to the Counties
through which it passes.
Approved February 3, 1874.
1. Beit enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
the board of public works is hereby authorized and directed
to transfer all the right, title and interest of this state, in and
to The Jacksonville and Christiansburg Turnpike, together
with all bridges and other property or franchise, belonging
or appertaining thereto, to the respective counties through
which parts of said turnpike are located. It shall be the
duty of the township boards to take charge of so much of
said road as may lie within their respective townships, and
cause the same to be put and kept in repair, as other county
roads, under the general law in reference to the roads of this
state.
2. All acts and parts of acts in conflict with this act, are
hereby repealed.
3. This act shall be in force on and after the first day of
June, eighteen hundred and seventy-four. |
