Chap. 199.—An ACT allowing Robert B. Batte & Co. to erect a Pier
or Wharf on the James River.
Approved April 15, 1874.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
Robert B. Batte & Co., of the county of Prince George, state
of Virginia, shall have power, and the same is hereby granted
them, to erect a pier or wharf at or near the channel bank,
on James River, about one mile below City Point, for shipping
purposes: provided, the said pier or wharf shall not obstruct
navigation on the said river. ;
2. This act sball be in force from its passage.
