Chap. 189.—An ACT for the Relief of the Sureties of John D. Temple-
ton, late Sheriff of Scott county.

Approved April 15, 1874.

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly, That the auditcr
of public accounts is hereby authorized and directed to re-
ceive from the securities of John D. Templeton, late sheriff
of Scott county, coupon bonds of the state of Virginia, re-
ceivable in payment of taxes and public dues at par, in full
satisfaction of the remaining liabilities due the commonwealth
from them by reason of their suretyship of the said John
D. Templeton, late sheriff as aforesaid: provided, that nothing
herein contained shall be construed as relieving the said John
D. Templeton from any liability for the whole of said judg-
ments or claims.

2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
