Church and Congregation, at Staunton to Execute Deeds of t.

Whereas it is represented that the African Methodist Epis- p
copal church and congregation, at Staunton, in erecting and
completing a suitable house of worship, have contracted a
debt which they are desirous of securing; therefore, T
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That &
it shall be lawful for the legally constituted trustees of said #
church and congregation, to execute one or more deeds of a:
trust upon all the real estate belonging to said church and °
congregation, or parts thereof, for the purposes aforesaid,
and none other; which deed or deeds of trust shall be as
effectual as if executed by an individual, and, except as may
be therein otherwise provided, shall be subject to the provi-
sions of chapter one hundred and thirteen of the Code of
Virginia, edition of eighteen hundred and seventy-three.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
