Chap. 103.—An ACT for the Relief of the Sureties of W. R. Millan,
late Sheriff of Fairfax County.

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly, That the auditor 5:
f public accounts be, and he is hereby authorized and directed, 2
ipon the settlement of two judgments entered in the circuit fa
‘ourt of Richmond city—one on the seventh day of Novem- 4,
yer, eighteen hundred and seventy, and the other on the
1inth day of November, eighteen hundred and seventy—in
the name of the commonwealth against W. R. Millan, late
theriff of Fairfax county, and his sureties, for his default in
the payment of the revenue of said county, to receive from
said sureties, in the discharge of said judgment against them,
the payment of the principal, legal! interest, and costs, with
five per centum thereupon for the expenses of collecting,
abating therefrom the damages which have been awarded for
said default: provided, however, that nothing in this act
shall be construed to relieve said Millan from any portion of n
said judgments. »
2. This act shall be in force from its passage. c
