Chap. 101.—An ACT to Authorize the Appointment of Trustees for
Benevolent Societies having no Lands.
Approved March 14, 1874.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly, That the books,
furniture, and other personal property given or acquired for
the use of any society of Knights of po thins, Free Masons,
Odd Fellows, Sons of Temperance, or any other benevolent
society having no lands, shall stand vested in trustees, to be
appointed by the circuit court of the county or corporation
in which the meetings of such society are regularly held,
upon request of the duly constituted and appointed officers
of such county.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
